Holistic Dentist Serving Alpharetta, GA

Happy caucasian woman at dentist cabinet

Your teeth aren’t isolated structures. They’re living parts of a connected system, and what happens in your mouth, from chronic gum inflammation to the materials placed in your fillings, can affect how the rest of your body feels and functions. If you’ve felt rushed through conventional dental visits, or you have questions about old silver fillings, fluoride, or metal implants that no one took time to answer, holistic dentistry offers a different path.

At Rose Dental, Dr. Zina Aaron provides holistic, biological dentistry for patients who travel from Alpharetta and communities across the Atlanta area. Dr. Aaron earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia and spent about two years training under Dr. Dressler, one of the founding figures of holistic dentistry in Atlanta, before acquiring his practice in 2018. As she puts it, “a tooth is as alive as a finger,” and that belief guides every decision made in our mercury-free, SMART-certified office.

What Holistic and Biological Dentistry Means

Holistic dentistry, also called biological or biocompatible dentistry, considers the relationship between oral health and overall health. It favors materials and techniques that are safe for the body, not just effective for the tooth. It also asks a question conventional dentistry often skips. How will this treatment affect the whole person, today and years from now?

Holistic dentistry isn’t a rejection of modern dental science. It’s a commitment to applying that science carefully. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research notes that research continues to reveal links between conditions in the mouth and chronic diseases elsewhere in the body. For Alpharetta patients who have long suspected that their dental and overall health are connected, our approach builds treatment around that connection.

Mercury-Free and SMART-Certified Care

Rose Dental doesn’t place amalgam, or “silver,” fillings. When patients want old amalgam fillings replaced, we follow the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) developed by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. The protocol uses layered protections to reduce mercury vapor and particle exposure for you, our team, and the environment during removal.

1
Isolate the Tooth
A dental dam and protective barriers keep particles away from your mouth, skin, and airway.
2
Protect Your Breathing
You breathe from a clean air source so you don't inhale vapor during removal.
3
Capture Vapor and Debris
High-volume suction and air filtration remove mercury vapor and particles at the source.
4
Restore Biocompatibly
The tooth is rebuilt with a metal-free, tooth-colored material.

Not every filling needs to come out right away. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends that certain higher-risk groups avoid new amalgam fillings when possible, and it advises against removing fillings that are in good condition unless it’s medically necessary. Dr. Aaron evaluates each filling, explains the tradeoffs, and helps you decide on a plan and timing that makes sense for your health. You can read more in our article on SMART mercury removal.

Holistic Services for Alpharetta Patients

Every treatment at Rose Dental is chosen because it fits a biocompatible, minimally invasive standard. The following services are central to our holistic practice.

We also provide fluoride-free preventive care, biocompatible periodontal treatment, and low-dose digital imaging, including cone beam CT when a more detailed view of bone and jaw anatomy is needed.

How Dr. Aaron Approaches Your Care

Holistic care at Rose Dental feels different from a typical dental visit. Here’s how we approach your care differently.

  • Whole-body intake. We ask about your overall health, medications, sensitivities, and lifestyle, not only your dental history.
  • Non-toxic materials. We use hypoallergenic, mercury-free, and BPA-conscious materials wherever possible to reduce systemic exposure.
  • Minimally invasive techniques. Laser and ozone therapies let us treat many problems with less discomfort and faster healing.
  • Prevention first. We look for risk early, including gum inflammation, bite concerns, and airway signs, rather than waiting for problems to escalate.

Dr. Aaron is a member of six professional organizations, including the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, the Holistic Dental Association, and the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health. Her continuing education includes biocompatible materials, laser dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. She takes time to explain what she’s doing and why, so you leave each visit with a clear picture of your oral health.

Is Holistic Dentistry Right for You

Many patients come to Rose Dental after feeling dismissed at conventional practices. Some have questions about amalgam fillings they received decades ago, or about the metals in their crowns and implants. Others want to avoid fluoride treatments or root canals, and our practice doesn’t perform either. Some are managing chronic health concerns and wonder whether their mouth could be part of the picture. Many simply want a dentist who will listen.

If any of that sounds familiar, holistic dentistry may be a good fit. The drive from Alpharetta to our Tucker office is straightforward via GA-400 and I-285. Patients have traveled from Florida, the Carolinas, and Alabama for our care. If you’ve already received a treatment plan elsewhere, you’re welcome to request a second opinion before committing to anything.

Insurance and Payment

Rose Dental accepts most major credit cards and select PPO insurance plans. Most holistic services, such as fillings, cleanings, and periodontal care, are billed like conventional dental services. Our team will help you review your coverage and financial options before treatment.
